Are you licensed?
Yes! We are a Certified Family Childcare, licensed by the state of Oregon. Our license number is CF504392. This means we meet health and safety requirements, training requirements, and regular inspections. Our owner is a former public school teacher with an MA in Education, and all of our staff are highly qualified and truly love young children.
Is my child an infant,. toddler, or preschooler?
Great question! Everyone sorts kids a little differently. Here's how we do it:

Infants: from age 6 weeks until they are walking and/or ready to move to one nap a day. We also take their overall development into consideration. Most children graduate from the infant room around 13-16 months of age.

Toddlers: Starting around 15 months until the September 1st that they are 3.

Preschoolers: Children enter our preschool program on the September 1st that they are 3 (or 4, if coming from somewhere else).
Where are you located?
We're at 5304 SE Ogden St in the Woodstock neighborhood of SE Portland. We're in a traditional Portland bungalow on a 1/3 acre lot which the children have full access to!
What are your hours and days?
We're open year-round.

Our preschool hours are 7-5 and infant/toddler hours are 8-4 Monday-Friday.
What ages do you accept?
We accept infants and toddlers on a rolling basis as spaces become available, starting at 6 weeks of age. Join our waitlist to get more info about that.

All of our preschool spots are contracted by Preschool for All, and enrollment is through their website. Your child must be 3 or 4 on Sept 1 of the upcoming school year to qualify for one of those spots. All of our 2026/27 PFA spots are expected to be taken by currently enrolled families, although this is not guaranteed at this time.

We do not have a school-age program, and once children are eligible for kindergarten, they have graduated our program.
Do you provide meals or snacks?
Yes! We provide three healthy, USDA-approved meals every day with as many homegrown ingredients as possible for all children over 12 months. We serve breakfast, lunch, and PM snack to all children 12 months and older. We are happy to accommodate most dietary restrictions. For very picky eaters or other special circumstances, families are welcome to send food for their child that will be served alongside the provided meals.

For babies under 12 months, we provide standard formula, or families can send their own formula or breastmilk. We also provide age-appropriate snacks and meals as they are ready.
Do you provide diapers and wipes?
We provide unscented wipes and diapers for all children, included in your monthly tuition. We have supported many children through potty training, and are happy to help your little one through this exciting transition as well! For a real deep dive, here's our Potty Policy.
What about inclement weather?
We will follow Portland Public Schools for inclement weather schedules/delays and alert parents as soon as we are aware of any closure or delay.
How does naptime work?
All children in the preschool group are invited to lay down and rest after lunch, around 12:00. We provide cozy sleep mats in our darkened rest room. Your child is welcome to bring a favorite stuffy or blanket from home for nap time. As children awaken, they are gently taken out for quiet play or story time. Unless parents request otherwise, children will be allowed to sleep until they wake up naturally.

Children in the baby room (usually under ~15 months old) sleep on their own personal schedule which is determined by their individual needs and in close communication with families.
Do you accept ERDC or CCI (state subsidies)?
Yes, we do!
